To Love Our Life
To be in this moment
without asking it to change.
To see the smallness of thought
through the greatness of be-ing.
To live innumerable lives
through the tenderness of one.
To undo the doings
of bygones & antiquity.
To take refuge in heart
when all else abandons.
To follow thumb-circle inward
toward the centre of true belonging.
To crease and fold life into shapes
that bring about mystical creatures.
To churn the rawness of hurt
into velvety butter with the consistency of heart.
To brave wilder ways
that lead to deeper rememberings
& make sovereignty of sacred origin.
To know the slow and to speak the subtle,
intimately and devotionally.
These are the ways this life
becomes our beloved.
